THE LEAVING

deleting a Wyrd account · Wyrd Global LLC

A Wyrd account, and everything that hangs on it, can be deleted from inside the app or by one letter. Both are a real deletion.

From inside the app

Settings → the leaving. An export of the reader's own work is offered first; then the account goes, after an hour's grace.

Without the app

A letter to privacy@wyrd.dev from the address the account signs in with, asking for the account to be deleted. A person answers, makes sure the letter comes from the account's owner, and deletes it. A request is answered within 30 days, and usually within two.

A reading bought on wyrd.dev without an account is deleted the same way, by a letter from the address it was bought with.

What is deleted

• the account: its email and its account number
• the birth data and the chart drawn from it
• the readings, the reflections set down in the Thread, the cards recorded and the weaves sealed
• the phone's notification address, if one was kept
• for a reading bought on wyrd.dev: the birth, the question, the name it was written to and the email

What is kept, and for how long

• Stripe's receipts and the record of each payment, which the law requires to be kept, for as long as the law requires it.
• Backups, which roll off within 30 days of the deletion.
• The counts of doors opened, which never carried a name, an email or an account number, stay as counts.
